I made this today from notes I’ve organized and collated about character design and development (the art side of it). I like to have things as an overview so I can think about all the things that go into the big picture. It’s a pdf with collected things I’ve learned about designing characters. Its only an overview, but it may be useful to someone else as well. You can probably find out about the principles in it by reading books, and using YouTube. The Walt Stanchfield book series “Drawn to Life” is useful, as are Tom Bancrofts books on character design. I won’t go into resources too much here as I could write an essay, and I should be drawing!
I made it using an open source software called tree sheets which is sort of a cross between spreadsheets, text processing and mind mapping.
